Above and below we see the three-quarters view of the patient we saw on the previous page.  This view is also called the "oblique" view.  She is not looking directly at the camera, and she is not looking directly off to one side, showing her profile.  The oblique view is the most important view in evaluating a nose, because it's the view you see people in most frequently.  Page through a women's fashion magazine and see how often you see a model in direct profile.  Answer: not very often.

As we see in these photographs, wide tip cartilages create a bulge around the tip of the nose on the oblique view.  As on the previous page, the black arrow points to the place where the tip cartilages start controlling the line of the nasal contour, making it bulge out away from her face.  In the after pictures, the profile line is straighter, and the profile curves don't draw unwanted attention to the nose.
