Rhinoplasty -- noses with big tips

When you click on the "Medium" or "Large" button underneath a photograph, you will see that photograph enlarged, and also, where available, different views of the same patient.

Plastic surgery (cosmetic surgery) before and after photograph.

This patient had a wide tip to her nose that makes it look like a ball on the end.

The tip of the nose is made out of two cartilages, which sit side by side. If you press your finger into the tip of your nose, you may be able to feel the small "dent" in between those cartilages. Sometimes, as in this patient, you can actually see the dent between the two cartilages at the nasal tip. That dent can be lessened or removed at the time that the tip is made smaller.

This nose was made shorter at the same time that the tip cartilages were made smaller.

The major problem with this nose was the ball at the tip. The nose was very slightly long and there was a tiny hump to be removed.
