What does board certification really mean?

The brief answer is that the various certifying boards and plastic surgery societies don't provide you with as much protection as you might think.  Our advice on how to find a competent plastic surgeon is far more valuable in getting you to a good doctor and keeping you out of trouble than just checking a surgeon's diplomas.
