Setting Netscape Navigator to accept cookies

First, figure out whether you are using Netscape version 6 or a later version.  Version 6 or later will say "Netscape 6" in the title bar at the very top of your browser, and it will have the white "N" on top of the world in the logo, like this:

Earlier versions have the stylized navigator's wheel in the logo, like this:

Click on one of the two lines below to find your instructions:

Instructions for setting Netscape Navigator version 6 or later to accept cookies

On the menu bar at the top of your browser, click on the word "Edit," and when the drop-down menu appears, click on "Preferences..."

Now a box appears that looks similar to this:

In the white area on the left side of the box, there is a line that says "Privacy & Security." Click on the arrow to the left of those words, so the arrow points down.  Then, click on the word "Cookies."

On the right side of this box, click the radio button that says "Enable all cookies."  You may also use the button that says "Enable cookies for the originating web site only."  That button will work, too.  Now, click on the "OK" button at the bottom of the box, and you're done.

Confirm that you can now accept cookies by clicking here.

If you still can't accept cookies, you might have to ask your local guru for help.
