Recommended books

We've only got two for you right now.  There are a plethora of plastic surgery books on the market, but very few that contain consistently accurate, useful information.  There's far too much hype out there, folks.

Lift: Wanting, Fearing, and Having a Face-Lift
by Joan Kron

Lift gives you an entertaining and educational insight into the author's experience with her face lift.  She is an experinced journalist who has been writing about plastic surgery for many years.  The book has many fascinating historical references and is engagingly written.  The section on how to select a plastic surgeon is not helpful, but the rest of the book is a delight.

The Face Book: The Consumer's Guide to Facial Plastic Surgery
edited by T. Susan Hill

The Face Book is a nice overview of the facial plastic surgery operations.  Sections describe types of patients who seek facial plastic surgery, what the various operations can do, and how to decide if it is right for you.
