She had a very wide area in the central part of her dorsum, exactly
where a hump typically exists. The width in that region of the nose is
corrected by moving the nasal bones closer together.

which describes how the bones are moved closer together during the
operation (the surgery tutorials contain explicit photographs taken during surgery).
