Draw a mental line straight down from the corner of her mouth. The face
usually develops a network of wrinkles along that line, which is the border
between the jowl and the chin. The peel worked quite well on those lines
of hers.
She may also be one of the unusual patients who sees a small improvement in
the jowl itself from the peel, resulting from some skin surface tightening
after the peel. Typically, we ask the face lift to work on the jowl, and
we don't count on any improvement in that area from the peel.

Questioner:
My plastic surgeon doesn't use drain tubes after Neck Lift/Facelift. Is that okay?

Dr. Denenberg's answer: Drains after facelift
Deb,
This is a question that cosmetic surgeons discuss regularly and you will find many different opinions. Most feel drains do help minimize seromas (fluid collections under the skin) and improve the recovery process. Some surgeons use fibrin sealants which also work well. Others just depend on dressings and pressure. In general, however, if your surgeon is experienced with facelifts and getting excellent results, then whether or not they use drains should not be an issue.
Best of luck with your procedure-
