The base view can also demonstrate that the nose was deprojected.
When a nose is brought back closer to the face, the distance from the tip of the
nose back to where the nose attaches to the upper lip decreases, decreasing the
height of this triangular base view.
As the tip comes closer to the face, the nostrils widen out a touch. If
they seem as though they will widen excessively, I use a nostril-narrowing
procedure during the rhinoplasty to keep them from bulging out too far.
