The base view is often the best view to illustrate a sideways deflection of
the nose. If you were to put your finger on his nose where it starts
between his eyes and run your finger down the length of his nose, your finger
would be quite far off to his left by the time you got to the tip.
The broken cartilages that are dragging his dorsum off to the left also
drag the base of his nose and his nostrils off to the left in the before
picture.

Questioner:
What Can Be Done to Improve the Appearance of my Nose? (Photos Provided)
I dislike the flat, boxy tip of my nose and the fact that it seems to have very defined edges like a cube. I'm wondering if it's possible to have the part overhanging my septum partly removed and reshaped, making the septum appear thinner and the tip rounder. I also wonder if it's possible to have the boxy edges literally shaved off. How possible would it be for my nose to be shaped more like Winona Ryder's, pointier, more graceful nose? Thank you for your help. (Questioner submitted photos)
Dr. Denenberg's answer: Need larger photos!
Hi, It does appear from the photos that your tip can be improved. Your photos, however, are far too small for a surgeon to see good detail. Post larger ones, and I'd be happy to make a morph showing what you could look like with a good rhinoplasty.
